Yes, ACCA is widely regarded as the global equivalent of CA, offering international recognition and flexible exam schedules.

ACCA professionals can pursue careers as Financial Analysts, Auditors, Management Accountants, Tax Consultants, and Finance Managers. With experience and career progression, they can also move into senior leadership roles such as Financial Controller, Finance Director, and CFO.

ACCA-qualified professionals in India typically earn between ₹6 lakh and ₹20 lakh per year, depending on experience, job role, and employer. Entry-level roles may start lower, while mid-level and specialized positions command higher packages. Internationally, ACCA is recognized and valued by global firms — including the Big Four (EY, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG) — where compensation can be significantly higher based on location and industry.

Students who have completed their +2 with a score of 65% in English and Mathematics/Accounts and a minimum of 50% in other subjects, as well as those with higher qualifications such as graduates, BCom, BBA, MCom, and MBA, can apply for ACCA.

The exams for the first four ACCA papers are on demand and can be taken at any time during the year, whereas the exams for the remaining nine papers are held four times per year. Every year, these four exam slots are scheduled for March, June, September, and December.

ACCA consists of 13 papers, structured across three levels: Knowledge (core concepts), Skills (practical application), and Professional (advanced expertise). Based on your educational background, you may be eligible for paper exemptions. Eligibility can be checked using the ACCA Exemption Calculator.

ACCA offers exemptions based on your educational background.
Students who join after Plus Two (+2) must complete all 13 papers with no exemptions.
Commerce graduates or postgraduates are required to complete 9 papers, with exemptions in BT, MA, FA, and LW. Students who have cleared CA IPCC need to complete 8 papers, as BT, MA, FA, TX, and AA are exempted.
